Birmingham, AL – The National Weather Service says there's a chance for a bit of rough weather Monday. Forecasters say strong thunderstorms could occur in central Alabama Monday afternoon, mainly between the hours of two and eight P-M. The main threat from these storms would be frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes and gusty winds of 35 to 45 miles per hour. Any storms that develop will be slow moving, so heavy rainfall up to 2 inches or more will be possible. Forecasters say there's a moderate risk for severe storms in the area north of Montgomery and south of Birmingham.
