Undated, AL – Many political campaigns will end today. Alabama's voters will be casting ballots in the Republican and Democratic primaries. The state's executive offices, legislative seats, five Supreme Court seats and hundreds of local offices are on ballots statewide. There's also a constitutional amendment that would ban same-sex marriages in the state. Secretary of State Nancy Worley is predicting above-normal turnout. She says about 40 to 45 percent of the state's two-point-four million registered voters are expected to cast a ballot today. Voting precincts across the state opened about a half hour ago and will stay open until seven o'clock tonight.
