Dothan, AL – The Houston County sheriff's race is still up in the air. The unofficial vote count showed incumbent Sheriff Lamar Glover won re-election by three votes. Glover got four-thousand-437 votes, and challenger Eddie Ingram got four-thousand-434. But Houston County Probate Judge Luke Cooley is trying to determine if a new state law triggers an automatic recount because the race is so close. Twelve absentee ballots also are in question because they did not include proper identification. The circuit clerk's office will mail certified letters to the 12 people who filed the absentee ballots, and they have until Monday to provide the necessary I-D. Then the ballots will be able to be counted.
