Montgomery, AL – Alabama's farmers and others who are trying to make a July first deadline to register their trucks with the U-S Department of Transportation have more time to do it. Governor Bob Riley has extended that deadline until January first. Farmers who have trucks that pull trailers with a gross loaded weight of more than ten-thousand pounds are required to register their vehicles with the federal transportation department. But the governor says he has too many questions about the requirements. He says a task force will work with the state's Department of Public Safety to answer those questions.
