Zeigler Resigns from Two PACs

By Alabama Public Radio

Mobile, AL – Jim Zeigler is hanging up his political hat. He's an attorney in Mobile, and he has resigned as chairman of two conservative political action committees. He says the groups Conservative Christians of Alabama and the League of Christian Voters supported candidates who generally got beat in last Tuesday's Republican primary. He says he's not good at fund-raising and someone else needs to take over the two PACs. Zeigler was first elected to the Public Service Commission more than 30 years ago. But then he narrowly lost six races for statewide offices. That earned him the nickname "Mister 49 Percent."
