SBC Committee Considers School Proposal

By Alabama Public Radio

Undated – A Southern Baptist Convention committee is expected to propose a resolution Wednesday that would encourage the denomination to create a plan to remove children from public schools. The proposal suggests Southern Baptist children should be taken from public schools and taught instead at home or in private schools. A faction within the Southern Baptist Church has been complaining that public schools teach the acceptance of homosexuality. The proposal also is critical of a federal court ruling that banned the teaching of intelligent design. That's the idea that life was created by a higher intelligence -- not evolution.
