State Legislator Sees Ethics Complaint

By Alabama Public Radio

Auburn, AL – A complaint with the Alabama Ethics Commission accuses Auburn state Representative Mike Hubbard of using his office for personal gain in securing no-bid contracts for sports broadcast rights at Auburn University.

Hubbard is the president and owner of Auburn Network. He also works as president of the Auburn division of International Sports Properties.

Hubbard says he welcomes the complaint, which he also describes as politically motivated.

Jim Phillips called for the investigation by the Ethics Commission and Attorney General Troy King. Phillips unsuccessfully challenged Hubbard in the June Republican primary.
