Montgomery, AL – Former Governor Don Siegelman and former HealthSouth C-E-O Richard Scrushy have been found guilty in the government corruption case in Montgomery. Siegelman was convicted on federal charges of bribery, conspiracy, mail fraud and obstruction of justice. Scrushy was also convicted of bribery, conspiracy and mail fraud. However, Siegelman's former chief of staff, Paul Hamrick, and state transportation director, Mack Roberts, were acquitted on all the charges they faced. Prosecutors spent six weeks on their part of the trial. The defense teams for all four men wrapped up in just a couple of days.
