Montgomery, AL – Tuition throughout the state's two-year college system will stay essentially the same for the third year in a row. Debbie Dahl, vice chancellor of the Department of Postsecondary Education, is crediting the legislature for increasing higher education spending during the past couple of years. Tuition starts at 90-dollars per credit hour for in-state students at most of the 27 two-year schools. Athens State is the only bachelor's-degree-granting school in the two-year system. Tuition there begins at 110-dollars per credit hour. While those costs are relatively unchanged, tuition has gone up at many of the state's four-year universities.
