Undated, AL – Were you able to beat the heat Monday? Temperatures reached well into the 90s across the state, and meteorologists said the heat index was higher than 105 degrees. There's still a chance for some heat-related problems for the next few days. Health workers say decaffienated sodas and juices will help you avoid a headache, excessive sweating or vomiting. Those are all signs of possible heat stroke. The American Red Cross says residents should wear loose, lightly colored clothing and a hat. The group also says it's a good idea to take plenty of breaks in the shade when working outside.
