Storms, Heat Common on Wednesday

By Alabama Public Radio

Undated, AL – The hot conditions made the atmosphere unstable in parts of Alabama Wednesday afternoon. Isolated rain showers and thunderstorms produced heavy rain, dangerous lightning and strong wind gusts. The National Weather Service reports the combination of humidity and afternoon temperatures around 100 degrees made conditions a bit dangerous. Meteorologists say heat indices reached between 105 and 110 degrees Wednesday.
