Alexander City, AL – A National Guard unit with detachments in Alexander City and Tuskegee will be honored this weekend. The 214th Military Police Company has received the Valorous Unit Award for its service in Iraq in 2003-and-2004. Soldiers who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom will also receive the Combat Action Badge. It recognizes their bravery in combat operations against insurgents. The awards will be presented at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at Fort Mac Wayne Speakes Armory in Alexander City. The public is invited.
