Tuscaloosa AL – Yesterday, the Alabama Fire College board of trustees canceled 200-thousand dollars in annual contracts and called for an investigation into funding that went to the privately operated Alabama Fire College Foundation ... instead of the fire school at Shelton State Community College in Tuscaloosa. The investigation was called yesterday after board members discovered that revenue generated from the college's Davis Publishing operation has been going to the private Foundation. The more than 200-thousand dollars worth of contracts canceled by the board at its meeting yesterday belonged to consultants and contractors hired by former college Executive Director W-L Langston. Langston also had arranged jobs and scholarships for relatives of two-year college administrators, including former two-year college Chancellor Roy Johnson.
