By Alabama Public Radio

Muscle Shoals, AL – Tokyo-based North American Lighting is opening an operation in Muscle Shoals. The company makes automotive signal lamps and is building a 21 million dollar facility that will eventually employ 320 people. Governor Bob Riley and Congressman Bud Cramer joined company executives for Friday's groundbreaking. North American Lighting has clients that include Nissan, Toyota and Honda. The Shoals plant will be the company's fourth facility in North America, but it will be the first built outside of Illinois.
