Sales Tax Holiday This Weekend

By Alabama Public Radio

Undated, AL – The state's three-day sales tax holiday begins at 12:01 a-m Friday. It designed to come just in time for back-to-school shopping. The state is waiving its four percent sales tax Friday through Sunday, and more than 200 cities and counties are doing the same for back-to-school clothes and supplies. The tax savings are open to anyone who purchases items that qualify for the tax break. Those include clothing priced at 100 dollars or less; school supplies priced at 50 dollars or less; other books valued at 30 dollars or less; and computers and computer equipment selling for 750 dollars or less.
