Columbus, GA – Governor Bob Riley and Georgia Governor Sonny Purdue are meeting today (Monday) in Columbus, Georgia, to work on the long-running disagreement over how to share water resources from the Alabama-Coosa-Tallapoosa river basin. Florida Governor Jeb Bush will not attend the meeting, but he says he wants the states to enter a three-month negotiation to agree on a plan. The states are in court-ordered mediation, and it's scheduled to end August 31st.
