Bay Minette, AL – The Baldwin County School system is tightening its visitor screening policies after condoms were distributed to high school students. Spokesman Terry Wilhite says the AIDS prevention group South Alabama Cares did not follow proper procedures during a recent visit to Baldwin County High School. Jennifer Hadley, education director for South Alabama Cares, says the group got grants to visit the school and promote abstinence as well as safe sex practices. Hadley says group members passed out informational materials along with condoms only to students who were interested in joining the group. She says condoms were given only to high school juniors and seniors. But Wilhite said condoms are not allowed on any school campuses in Baldwin County.
