Hayneville, AL – The Lowndes County Commission will take a second vote on a controversial landfill project. Commission Chairman Charlie King says there will be another vote to ensure it is legally binding. He says the commission had advertised that the vote would be held in the courthouse annex building. But the change was not posted before the required time, and he says he wants to make sure the commission complies with the state's Sunshine Laws. Earlier this week, Lowndes County Commission voted 3-to-2 to reject the application from Alabama Rivers Partners. The company had wanted to build a landfill near the Burkville community. King says the new vote will be taken Tuesday at 8 a-m in the commission's conference room.
