Prattville, AL – Starting October second, Alabama motorists will have a choice in the standard license plate: the ``Stars Fell on Alabama'' tag or the new ``God Bless America'' tag. Governor Riley used the fifth anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks to unveil the design of the ``God Bless America'' tag today. The ceremony was held at a Prattville fire station and was attended by more than 50 law enforcement officers and firefighters. The new tag features a waving American flag in the background and ``God Bless America'' across the bottom. Riley says it's a simple statement, but it has guided the country for over 200 years. State Representative Steve Hurst came up with the idea for the tag and got the Legislature to approve it in April. The tag was designed by the state Revenue Department. It will sell for the same price as a standard ``Stars Fell on Alabama'' tag.
