Washington, DC and Montgomery, AL – This file contains two reports.

Report #1 - President Bush acknowledged for the first time last week that the U-S operates secret prisons overseas. But the president denied assertions the U-S tortures detainees. Still, an Alabama congressman believes some forms of torture are necessary to glean information about potential terrorist plots. Chad Pergram reports from Capitol Hill.

Report #2 - Alabama Republicans feel they have a chance to take control of the state legislature this November for the first time in more than a century. Republican Caucus members have announced their plans for the 2007 session, should the GOP become the majority party. Gina Smith reports from Montgomery.
