Montgomery, AL – Democrat Jim Folsom Junior's first T-V ad in the lieutenant governor's race casts Folsom as a friend to the -- quote - little guy and takes a veiled shot at his Republican opponent's Mountain Brook connections. Folsom and G-O-P nominee Luther Strange face off in the November seventh election. Folsom, a former governor and lieutenant governor, is returning to politics after spending 12 years in the bond business. Strange, a lobbyist and Birmingham attorney, did not immediately return phone and e-mail messages to his office today for comment on the Folsom ads. He has not launched a statewide T-V campaign since his July primary win over George Wallace Junior. In the primary race, Strange's ads spotlighted his six-foot-nine height. Folsom's second 30-second spot highlights his role in luring a Mercedes automobile assembly plant to Vance during his 1993-1995 tenure as governor.
