Riley Raises More Than Baxley

By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – Republican Governor Bob Riley has been raising campaign funds four times as fast as Democratic Lieutenant Governor Lucy Baxley since they won their parties' primary elections in early June. Riley filed a campaign finance report yesterday showing he has received three-point-three (M) million dollars in donations since early June. Baxley reported nearly 800-thousand dollars. Riley's total campaign fund-raising now stands at eight-point-eight (m) million dollars. Baxley's is at two-point-five (m) million dollars. Baxley says she's got enough money to get her message to voters for the general election November seventh. Riley says his level of support shows people believe he is building a better Alabama.
