Montgomery, AL – Candidates for three of the top four elected offices in Alabama on the November Seventh ballot will face off for a two-hour debate at 7 o'clock tonight. Major party candidates for governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general will take questions at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival in Montgomery. Chief justice candidates aren't debating. Alabama Public Radio plans to broadcast the debate live. Democratic Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley and Republican incumbent Gov. Bob Riley will answer questions from Montgomery academy debate and speech coach Jay Rye during the one-hour gubernatorial candidate debate. Former Democratic Gov. Jim Folsom Jr. and Republican Luther Strange, the candidates for lieutenant governor, will participate in a 30-minute debate at 8 PM. Republican Attorney General Troy King and Democrat John Tyson Jr., the Mobile County district attorney, will participate in a 30-minute debate at 8:30 PM.
