RBC Centura Bank plans to acquire 39 branches in Alabama from AmSouth, which is divesting the branches to allay antitrust concerns. The 39 AmSouth branches have about $1.5 billion in loans and $2 billion in deposits. Concerns about antitrust matters came when AmSouth agreed to a $10 billion acquisition by Regions Financial Corp.
