Disaster Assistance Approved for Central Alabama

By Alabama Public Radio

Montgomery, AL – The declaration was sought after severe storms and tornadoes struck Montgomery and several other neighboring counties on November 15th. The governor's office said disaster aid also will be available to residents in Autauga, Bullock, Crenshaw, Elmore, Lowdnes, Macon and Pike counties. The SBA declaration means home owners, renters and business owners can apply for low interest loans to help recover from storm damage. The Alabama Emergency Management Agency and local officials will help coordinate the assistance.
