Some Counties Suffer Storm Damage

By Alabama Public Radio

Demopolis, AL – Damage assessment crews are touring Marengo and Hale counties today to inspect areas damaged during last night's severe weather. The National Weather Service says damage was reported in Demopolis, where a trailer park was littered with aluminum ripped off homes and broken trees. Isolated damage also was reported in Jefferson County, where an awning was blown off a building and trees were toppled. No serious injuries were reported. A wind advisory is in effect until noon today for dozens of counties. Winds with powerful gusts of up to 40 miles per hour are expected in some areas.
