WUAL Founder Keith Barze Has Died

Tuscaloosa, AL – Alabama broadcasting pioneer Keith Barze died Dec. 10th at the age of 78. He was instrumental in establishing WUAL-FM.

In this portion of an interview recorded more than five years ago, Barze talked about the efforts to establish a public radio station in Tuscaloosa. He was interviewed for Alabama Public Radio's 20th Anniversary celebration in 2002. Barze's funeral was scheduled for 2:00 PM on Wednesday, Dec. 13th at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. A 2:30 PM memorial service was scheduled at First Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa.
