Montgomery, AL – Gov. Bob Riley and Lieutenant Gov. Jim Folsom Junior are back on Alabama soil today following a two-day industry hunting trip to Europe.
Riley declined to go into details, but did say he visited with executives at Thyssenkrupp (thee-sin-krupp) Steel Company. The German-based company is looking at sites in Alabama and Louisiana to build a massive steel manufacturing plant.
Riley said the delegation also made a stop in Austria and held discussions with a car manufacturer, that he would not name. He also hinted that a European-based company is looking at sites in Alabama to build a large lumber mill.
