Scottsboro, AL – The Scottsboro City Jail remains open, at least for the time being, after a judge reversed a state fire marshal's order to close the facility.
According to City Attorney Stephen Kennamer, a circuit judge issued an injunction Monday night allowing the jail to remain open.
The city official said the lockup did not meet certain requirements mandated by the American Disabilities Act. Other areas cited included wider entrances and the lack of a speaker system.
