Washington, DC – One of the decorated eggs in this year's State Egg Display at the White House was created by a Geneva County artist.
Lynda Kinman of Hartford was among dozens of artists from each state selected by the American Egg Board.
Kinman died in February at age 59, but had already submitted her egg for the display.
Her egg is red, white and blue with the words Space Camp across the top. It has a miniature space shuttle in the center.
The decorated eggs will be part of an exhibit at the White House Visitor Center in recognition of the annual egg roll.
The annual event started when President Rutherford B. Hayes opened the White House grounds to local children for egg rolling on the South Lawn on Easter Monday in 1878.
The state display will run through April 24th.
