Birmingham, AL – A Jefferson County judge was arrested after being indicted on 56 counts of tax evasion, ethics charges and election violations alleging he deposited campaign donations into a personal account and failed to report the income.
Circuit Judge Dan King of Bessemer surrendered Tuesday at the sheriff's office. He was freed after posting a 50-thousand dollar bond.
The 51-year-old King told reporters -- quote -- ``I didn't do anything wrong.''
The circuit judge was relieved of his duties with the indictment. If convicted of any felony counts, he would automatically be removed from office.
