New Law Helps Rebuild Enterprise City Schools

By Associated Press

Enterprise, AL – Gov. Bob Riley has signed into law a bill that appropriates 32 million dollars to rebuild two Enterprise schools destroyed by tornadoes.

The money will be used to rebuild Hillcrest Elementary School and Enterprise High School. A March one tornado destroyed the two schools and killed eight students huddled in a hallway at the high school.

The legislation allows Enterprise school officials to also use any insurance money or federal disaster relief it receives for the rebuilding effort. The bill went to the governor for his signature after passing the Senate 34 to nothing and the House 100 to nothing last week.
