Gas Prices Keep Going Up

By Associated Press

Undated, AL – Motorists are already reeling from rising gasoline prices. Now, it's time for more sticker shock.

The Lundberg Survey reports that pump prices for self-serve regular have surged to a record nationwide average three dollars, seven cents a gallon. That's nearly 20 cents higher than two weeks earlier.

The previous U-S record was three-oh-three per gallon on August eleventh, 2006.

Analyst Trilby Lundberg says the increase is due mostly to refinery problems.

According to yesterday's fuel gauge report by Triple-A Alabama - regular averages two dollars, 86 cents a gallon; midgrade fuel cost three-oh-six; and premium is three-15 a gallon.

Overall, gas prices across the state are 26 cents higher than a month ago.
