By Alabama Public Radio

Tuscaloosa AL – A formal inquiry has been launched into the death of 35-year-old Michale Stallworth, who was found dead in his Dallas County Jail cell on Sunday. The Selma Times Journal reported that a deputy told a Stallworth relative the inmate had been in a fight, but declined to elaborate. Dallas County Sheriff Harris Huffman has not yet commented on the matter. An autopsy is being conducted. Stallworth's sister says he was on medication. He had been in jail since Wednesday on a failure to appear warrant.
