Classes Resume at UNA After Bomb Threats

By Pat Sanders, Alabama Public Radio

Florence, AL – Summer classes resumed Wednesday at the University of North Alabama in Florence.

Students, faculty and others returned to campus, a day after university officials canceled classes because someone e-mailed four anonymous bomb threats against the school.

Florence police said a suspicious package was found near Powers Hall - it was destroyed after it was mistaken for a bomb. Police later said the package contained a G-P-S scavenger game clue.

Authorities said nothing else was found and the investigation continues.
