Tyson CEO Assures Albertville, Blountsville

By Associated Press

Blountsville, AL – Tyson Foods C-E-O Richard Bond flew from Tyson's corporate headquarters in Springdale, Arkansas, to assure Albertville and Blountsville leaders of their commitment to each community.

He said he wanted to respond to rumors about the company's intentions for its northeast Alabama operations. Bond made the comments last Thursday.

A fire at a Tyson facility in Heflin and the sale of two other facilities left the company with the Blountsville and Albertville operations.

Bond also said the company is preparing to spend a sizable amount of capital on the Blountsville facility to make it more efficient. He said a similar investment is planned at the Albertville facility in the near future.
