By Associated Press

Montgomery, AL – Retired Barbour County Circuit Judge Jack Wallace, the brother of four-time Alabama Governor George Wallace, died Monday after suffering a stroke in May. He was 84.

Wallace lived most of his life in Clayton and served from 1958 to 1986 as circuit judge in Barbour County. He later practiced law in Eufaula. Wallace was an adviser in George Wallace's campaigns for governor and his unsuccessful campaigns for president.

Jack Wallace's son, Jack Wallace Junior, said his father was content being outside the limelight of his famous brother.

Jack Wallace was the youngest of three Wallace brothers.

Jack Wallace served in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War Two and was called back to active duty during the Korean War.

The funeral will be at 11 a-m Thursday at Pea River Presbyterian Church on Alabama 51 between Clio and Louisville.

Survivors include his wife, Ursula Wallace; son, Jack Wallace Junior, Montgomery; daughter, Jean Wallace Gantt, Andalusia; sister, Marianne Dauphin.
