Selma AL – A second museum for the Selma-to-Montgomery Historic Trail was given a one million dollar boost Thursday, courtesy of Congress. The check, presented by Birmingham Congressman Artur Davis, will help finance the Selma Interpretive Center. Construction on the facility is expected to take about three years at a cost of about ten million dollars. The National Park Service also plans to build a third interpretive center in Montgomery - but its unclear where the center would be built. The first center opened last August near White Hall in Lowndes County to commemorate events leading up to the landmark Selma-to-Montgomery voting rights march and passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
