Tuscaloosa AL – Tuscaloosa Area planning officials are seeking public comment on the latest version of their non-motorized transportation plan. That plan could determine which parts of the county get new sidewalks, safety improvements and even bicycle paths. Bill Herz is chairman of the Tuscaloosa Area Metropolitan Planning Organization's Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee. He says public input on the new transportation plan is critical in supporting a safer, healthier mindset of community planning.

The new Bicycle and Pedestrian plan will be unveiled at a public meeting 10 o-clock Friday morning at the West Alabama Regional Commission on Highway 69 North. For Alabama Public Radio, I'm Brett Tannehill.
