Montgomery, AL – Voters in Montgomery re-elected Mayor Bobby Bright to his third term in office on Tuesday.
Scott Simmons, who also ran against Bright in the 2003 election, was the toughest of Bright's three challengers and came in second.
With 98 percent of boxes reporting, Bright had 58.29 percent of the vote and Simmons had 32.98 percent. Behind the front-runners, Jon Dow had and William Franklin Boyd divided the remaining 8.73 percent, the Montgomery Advertiser reported.
Montgomery County Probate Judge Reese McKinney told the Advertiser Tuesday evening that about 34 percent of the city's registered voters came out to vote.
