No Injury Reports from Pensacola Tornado

By Associated Press

Penscola, FL – There are no reports of injuries after a tornado touched down in the western Florida Panhandle Thursday morning.

The twister struck as a line of violent thunderstorms made their way across the Pensacola area.

Escambia County sheriff's spokesman Glenn Austin says preliminary damage reports are still coming in. He says the twister could be seen tossing debris around.

The tornado struck a section of Pensacola's major shopping mall.

The manager of one store at Cordova Mall says the twister ''felt like an earthquake.'' She says the ceiling in her store is damaged, and water has been pouring in.

Officials at a hospital across the street from the mall says no injured shoppers have been taken to their emergency room. Another hospital also reported no injuries.
