Alabama's State Of The State Address Postponed Due To Primary

Montgomery, AL – Governor Riley is planning to postpone his annual State of the State speech one day so that it won't coincide with Alabama's presidential primary.

Riley's speech normally highlights the opening day of the legislative session, which is February 5. But that's the same day Alabama and more than 20 other states have primaries. Riley's speech would be competing with coverage of those primaries.

Leaders of the House and Senate have agreed to let Riley give the speech the next day, at 6:30 p.m. on February 6.
