Montgomery – Legislators say they expect to hear bad news when they meet Thursday for the first of a series of budget hearings leading up to the start of the 2008 regular session.
Lawmakers will hear tomorrow from the chief budget analysts from the governor's office and from the Legislature. The analysts are expected to predict shortfalls in funding for education and Medicaid.
The main job for lawmakers when the regular session begins February 5th will be to write budgets to fund education and other state services for the fiscal year that begins October 1st.
