Montgomery, AL – Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh has raised more money than her fellow Republicans in the race for Public Service Commission president.
The campaign filings were released Monday by the Secretary of State's office.
Cavanaugh, former chairman of the Alabama Republican Party and a former member of Governor Riley's Cabinet, raised more than $51,000 and spent more than $15,000.
Matt Chancey, of Chelsea, a Republican who works in communications and marketing, reported raising $15,000 and spent $12,000.
Jack Hornady, a retired employee of the PSC who made an unsuccessful race for the commission in 2006, filed a waiver for the pre-election report filing.
By the 5 p.m. filing deadline, Beth Chapman's office had not received a pre-election finance report for former Lt. Governor Lucy Baxley, who has no Democratic primary opposition. A state election official said Baxley may have mailed her report by certified mail, which means it would not necessarily arrive on the deadline day.
Monday was the deadline for pre-election finance reports before the June 3rd election.
