Capitol Hill – North Alabama Congressman Bud Cramer is praising his colleagues in the House for Wednesday's vote providing NASA with additional funding in next year's budget.
The Huntsville Democrat's district includes the Marshall Space Flight Center. He said in a statement Wednesday, the appropriation would give the agency the "resources it needs to sustain programs and research initiatives."
The $20-billion legislation includes an $1 billion to speed up development of the next generation of spacecraft, the Orion Crew Exploration Vehicle and the Ares I Crew Launch Vehicle.
The president had requested 17.6 billion dollars for the space agency.
