Birmingham, AL – The Birmingham Regional Planning Commission has issued an Orange Air Quality Alert for Jefferson and Shelby counties.
The agency said there will be elevated levels of ozone Wednesday in the two-county area that would make it difficult for people with breathing problems.
The commission urges residents to reduce driving by car pooling or taking the bus. Other tips include not burning leaves or trash and gas up after 6 p.m. when the heat of the day has subsided.
