Montgomery, AL – Twinkle Andress Cavanaugh has posted a big fundraising lead over Matt Chancey in the Republican runoff for president of the Alabama Public Service Commission.
The candidates filed new campaign finance reports Thursday to show how much they have raised through the primary and runoff, which is scheduled for Tuesday.
Cavanaugh has now raised nearly $127,000 in contributions and $78,500 in campaign loans from her and her husband, Montgomery veterinarian Jeff Cavanaugh. She has reported spending nearly 4200,000.
Chancey reported that he has raised nearly $65,000 and spent almost $61,000 through the primary and runoff. Chancey has not reported any loans to his campaign.
The winner of Tuesday's runnoff advances to the general election Nov. 4 against the Democratic nominee, former Lt. Gov. Lucy Baxley.
