Birmingham, AL – Alabama's most populous county is getting a new chief prosecutor.
Gov. Bob Riley on Tuesday appointed Brandon Falls to replace Jefferson County District Attorney David Barber, who is retiring.
Falls has worked in the Jefferson County district attorney's office for nearly 11 years. He has been a deputy district attorney and division chief during that time.
Barber has been the district attorney in Birmingham since 1984. He announced his retirement last month.
