Birmingham, AL – Birmingham regional officials have declared a Code Orange Air Quality Alert for Jefferson and Shelby counties.
Officials said elevated amount of ozone and particle pollution is expected Tuesday because of hot, hazy conditions.
It could be difficult conditions for people with respiratory ailments. The elderly and the very young are especially vulnerable.
The public is also asked to reduce driving, avoid using gas powered engines and eliminate all outdoor burning.
