Costly Race Being Run For Alabama's Highest Court

Montgomery, AL – The race for the Alabama Supreme Court has turned into a multimillion dollar contest.

Democrat Deborah Bell Paseur filed a campaign finance report Thursday showing that she had raised nearly $1.9 million in the last six weeks.

Republican Greg Shaw reported bringing in more than $1 million.

Two nonpartisan groups that track campaign spending, the Brennan Center for Justice and the Justice at Stake Campaign, say Alabama's race is shaping up as the second most expensive judicial race in America this year.
